Ogun APC mourns ex-commissioner

The caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi has commiserated with the family of the late Professor Akin Ogunpola who passed away on Monday.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta, Sanusi said the late Chief Ogunpola lived a worthy life.

Sanusi said: ‘’ He served our state with the fullest of his strength and energy. He was an outstanding Commissioner of Education whose tenure established many primary and secondary schools and the prestigious Olabisi Onabanjo University.

 

“To the glory of God and Chief Ogunpola’s honour, all these legacies are monumental, functional and will remain evergreen in the annals of education in Ogun State’’.

He added that the late Ogunpola ‘’ was an astute politician, a committed community leader and a resourceful educationist that has left his names on the sand of  time.
