Former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Fatai Wole Adeyanju, has died.
Adeyanju was said to have died in the early hours of Saturday.
The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ogun State, Akinloye Bankole, confirmed the death of Adeyanju, in a release.
In the statement made available to Ottagistreel, Akinloye said:
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state mourns the painful transition to higher glory of one of its founding leaders and a former member of the National Working Committee of the party, Alhaji Abdulfatah Adewole Adeyanju who died after a protracted illness.
“During his life time, Alhaji Adeyanju was an outstanding party man, a cerebral democrat who dedicated his life to the stability and common good of our great party and the nation.
“Adeyanju also played leading roles in the entrenchment of core democratic values and ethos in the administration of our great party, especially during his tenures of office as the Secretary to Ipokia Local Government and later as the National Auditor of the party.
“As a party, we are, however, consoled in the fact that he triumphed in life and left very strong legacies, dedication, resilience and unalloyed loyalty from which younger generation of political actors can benefit.
Our correspondent reports that no detail has been provided about the cause of death of the late former PDP National Auditor, who reportedly died in his 60s.
